Our projects

Projects of 2011-12

Introduction

Society for Education Environment and Development (SEED (NGO) KARUR)
is a great pleasure to submit its intended activates and achieved results. It
discussed with its eminent and committed executive committee members ,
staff team and community representative to prepare a pre plan and derived
strategies for Implementation of activates as per the plan the following
activities have been implemented.

Project 1
  • Under the Total Sanitation Campaign
    Purpose:
  • To be avoided in public places us toilet
    Objective:
    1. Bring about an improvement in the general quality of life in the
    rural areas.
    2. Accelerate sanitation coverage in rural areas.
    3. Generate felt demand for sanitation facilities through awareness
    creation and health education.
    4. Encourage cost effective and appropriate technologies in
    sanitation.

Activities carried out

1. Provided sanitation facilities construction in 6 Village at Karur district
2. Namely Revenue village Kosur, Mathagri at Krishnaraypuram union, karur District
3. This financial year on constricted 350 Toilet in the above area

    Outcome
  • Good sanitary practices prevent to contamination of water and soil and prevent diseases.
  • The concept of sanitation was, therefore, expanded to include personal hygiene, home sanitation, safe water, garbage disposal, excreta disposal and waste water disposal.
  • Eliminate open defecation to minimize risk of contamination of drinking water sources and food.
  • Convert dry latrines to pour flush latrines, and eliminate manual scavenging practice, wherever in existence in rural areas.
Project 2:
  • Health Awareness Programme
    Purpose:
  • Improving health condition of rural area People
    Objectives
  • To sensitize the issue of anemia among the community
  • To promote kitchen gardens
  • To create good relation ship between community and healthdepartment

Activates carried out

  • Made base line survey on anemia
  • Conducted sensitization training among the SHG members
  • Promoted kitchen gardens
  • Conducted village level health camps
    Supporting Team
  • III NSS UNIT team National collage Trichy District
  • Tharagampatty panchayat board
    Out come
  • 200 People and 50 children were sensitized on the issue of diseases.
  • Prompted 200 kitchen gardens among the SHG members
  • Reduced 20% diseases in 10 village
  • Consuming nutrient greens and local vegetables in the villages as awhole
Project 3

Women and youth Empowerment Purpose :

  • To form into SHGs
  • To impact capacity buildings training to them
  • To do credit linkage with banks
  • To involve encourage SHG to from financial support through banks
    Activates carried out
  • Identified poor women and youth and formed them into SHG separately
  • Account opened in the nationalized banks
  • Direct credit facilitator with local banks was madeReceived revolving fund from the wed to 5 SHGs
  • Involved in small business like petty shops cattle rearing, and rice selling, mini Tiffin center by SHGs

          Outcome:

  • Formed 9 women SHGs
  • Received RS 125000 as direct bank linkage credit
  • Trained 180 members of 9 SHG
  • Keeping in mind seed planned to get benefit by the poor from the India
    with records to individual insurance. Hence it had long discussion with
    the SHGS and the family members to put insurance for the security the life
  • Purely ST SHG Formed and also joined Local panchayat president as one of the member
  • As well as the benefit of future generation.
Project 4

Networking activities Purpose:

  • Collective action in promoting sustainable agriculture a the district level

          Objective :

  • To co ordinate NGOS and involve them is common cause sustainable agriculture
  • To initiate models at the district level on Natural resources management
  • To spread out the extension in near by district Activities carried out
  • Formed NGOs network linked in the name of CIRD
  • Floated concept to the NGOs heads
  • Imparted intensive training the NGOs head and natural resources management
  • Made action plan like local lake management with local Panchayat
    institution and RPA in 10 NGOs filed was done and prepared a local community plan
    Outcome
  • District level network formed
  • PRA done in 10 villages that is one from each NGO common lake at the
    kullurangampatty, Mathagari, village was identified to other panchayats
  • A separate net work account was opened in sustainable State bank of
    India f Panjapatty for collect the operation Other training progremmes
    Purpose :
  • Capacity building and self confidence to the staff team
    Objectives
  • To enhance the skills and the management capacity of the staff in various concepts
  • To promote cultural team to effective communication
  • To establish a resource team in women health and economic development
  • To train staff micro credit
  • To train staff on Naturopathy & Yoga
    Out come
  • To our staff provided EDP training to 10 SHGs women on EDP
  • 3 staff and 3 community volunteers have taken cultural team and the
    performed in the villagers
  • Staff conducted micro credit training programmed to the 32 SHO
  • 2 staff have Provided TOT training on naturopathy & yoga Conclusion
  • SEED ( NGO) KARUR is satisfied with the service and implanted
    activates with the support of donors , Staff team ,Govt. Department, NGOs welfare and all aspects community
  • Hence would like to thank for their supports it expects the same in the coming years.

Soiled waste management

Purpose:

  • To be collected house holding wastes &Street wastes
    Objective:
    1. Bring about an improvement in the general quality of life in the rural areas.
    2. Accelerate soiled waste management coverage in rural areas.
    3. Generate felt demand for soiled waste management facilities through awareness creation and health education.
    4. Encourage cost effective and appropriate technologies in soiled waste management.

    1. Provided soiled waste management facilities construction in 10 Village at Karur district
    2. Namely Revenue village Sanaparty at Thanthonimalai union, karur District
    3. This financial year 16000 house holding soiled wastes in the above area

  • Involved in small business like petty shops cattle rearing, and rice selling, mini Tiffin center by farmers club s
    Outcome:
  • Formed 9 women farmers clubs
  • Received RS 600000as direct bank linkage credit
  • Trained 120 members of 9 farmers club
  • Keeping in mind seed planned to get benefit by the poor from the India
    with records to individual insurance. Hence it had long discussion with
    the SHGS and the family members to put insurance for the security the life

  • To train staff micro credit
  • To train staff on Naturopathy & Yoga
    Out come
  • To our staff provided EDP training to 30 SHGs women on EDP
  • 3 staff and 2 community volunteers have taken cultural team and the performed in the villagers
  • 2 staff conducted micro credit training programmed to the 28 SHO
  • 1 staff have Provided TOT training on naturopathy & yoga Conclusion
  • SEED ( NGO) KARUR is satisfied with the service and implanted
    activates with the support of donors , Staff team ,Govt. Department,
    NGOs welfare and all aspects community and State Bank of India
